Yes, I understand your reluctance to go to war with Iran. You’re tired of Iraq and you know you have been lied to by the government and the media. Yes, it is true there is a conspiracy of sorts going on that drives the world political reality that is beyond the control of governments and pop culture. It is troubling to think that events are happening beyond our control, but there is one thing that you should keep in mind, Americans. The trend of events is our favor, not the other guys.
A lot has been learned since World War Two. We have learned that there are aboslutes in the world. There is a right and a wrong. There is a such thing as beauty and ugliness. There is a difference between hope and despair. And most of all, there is a difference between being the victor and the defeated. We as Americans did not so much choose to be the victors as we were chosen. Events are guiding us, we are not guiding the events, and as any good commander would know when war begins all the planning that preceded it evaporates into thin air.
America has stood on the side of the right in the world. This does not mean that America stands for what is right just because it is popular, but rather this means that those who choose to be on the side of the right will be in the company of a select few who are right. And those of us who understand the fact that millions have died fighting for what is right will know that to be on this side and to reap its rewards and accept its responsibilities should not necessarily be met with self-congratulatory slaps on the back but rather with optimism for the future. Humility is the order of the day for those who know their just and true purpose in the world.
To believe in what is right is to believe in the credo that all men were created equal. We all share (if we choose to do so) in the yoke of what we all know deep down inside to be right and just. Religion cannot itself explain this phenomenon other than to say that perhaps a belief in one’s deep belief in what is right is rooted in man’s own instinctual compass.
No, not in the name of God does war exist but rather war exists in name of ridding the world of those who speak for the godliness of other men. The uniqueness of human life is exemplified by the doctrine of freedom, and those who do not share in this oneness of man with his God are doomed to the great ash heap of history.
This is why Ahmadenijad loathes the West. We believe in this unique nature of man in relation to his or her God. No other man has the right to speak for other men’s true nature and decide for them what they should believe. Iran will unfortunately pay the price for its leaders who have perverted the belief in justice and human diginity. The war on terror is a war on ignorance, and the war will not end until all forms of ignorance have been eradicated, especially in an age when information is so prevalent that ignorance is instantaneously discovered and revealed.
The message for America is that war takes on different meanings in different times. What makes this time different is that no one can feign ignorance in an age when information is abundant, and moreover nobody can honestly say that they do not understand the modern world and its limitless human capabilities without their being either so removed from life they do not know or they are so drunk with power that they deserve to be dealt a sobering blow.
