I loved Blazing Saddles. I remember watching it as a child back in the 70’s. They didn’t have movie ratings back then like they do today. I think I got my first taste of real humor while watching Blazing Saddles.
You have to remember that I’m from a little town in the deep south, and to be honest with you when Blazing Saddles came to town few if any white folks showed up to see it. I think my dad and I were the only ones in the theater. I like to call those days the days before the great fall.
Now we have all this political correctness bullshit that eliminates entire words from the language much in the same despicable way that most fascist regimes set out to undermine free speech. Hell, Hitler was a motherfucker, but you don’t see anybody telling you that you can’t use his name. Yet the word nigger is somehow different. Nigger commands a different level of attention nowadays much in the same way how one could imagine themselves spending the night in Chernobyl. Even if closing your eyes tight helps you get through the event with less fear than you would normally have if your eyes were open, nevertheless you are aware of the reality of where you are and what you are doing.
In order to crack this case once and for all about a word that has literally eluded authorities, we must turn our attention to the white folks of the world. Namely, if you are white and from the south then you are pretty much considered out of the running for anything resembling security and peace of mind in America. The war against the southern white male is palpable. It is as though southern white men were born in Chernobyl, and everybody is afraid to even be close to them. After all, we do tend to use the word nigger a lot, and frankly most of us don’t really care about the word’s so-called ‘loaded’ connotation. We just happen to like the word. It is in the English dictionary, right?
It has gotten so bad in America after the great fall occurred subsequent to the 1970’s, that now we have a man whose own minister uses the word nigger in a sermon, yet ordinary common white folks who say that word are pretty much put on a massive CIA shit list or something. It’s like if we use the word then a ripple goes out like a shock wave from a thermonuclear bomb explosion. In reality the use of the word nigger had its beginnings in the 1800’s in the south when the blacks who were permitted to work in the main house kept the other blacks in line by referring to them as niggers. Famous writers such as Joseph Conrad and Charles Dickens used the word nigger in non-racist connotations. Even the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People uses the term colored people to refer to blacks, which is perhaps a term almost as perturbing as nigger if said in public.
There are many ways to refer to black people, however, I use the word nigger to refer to my dogs or to anyone who is a dumb ass. To me a nigger is somebody who is 50% attitude and 50% platitude. A nigger to me is somebody who is completely unproven yet who thinks they are the cat’s pajamas. I used to know a black woman who acted just like this. While we were growing up together we got along just fine. Then she went off to study at Ole Miss, which had been freshly radicalized by the events surrounding James Meredith in his 1962 push to become Ole Miss’ first black student. Something changed in her when she returned. She had learned the art of anger and defiance. Suddenly I had become her enemy. This was the beginning of the end of perfectly innocent times we had shared together as children. It signified for me the death of my dream to live together with blacks.
As I look back now I am saddened beyond belief that the only outlets I had to turn to vent my frustration with black anger was the movies. The movies were the only place you could turn to in order to try to understand this. While I laughed I also cried on the inside. My laughter was being directed at a screen where characters play out the unenviable reaction of a new black anger that had been directed at whites. Suddenly the word nigger became a tool in the hands of whites to react to what they perceived as threats from blacks. It was a normal and expected turn of events in light of the radicalization that was creeping into communities in the south.
What blacks do not seem to understand is that white people by and large want to get along with them. The problem is that blacks do not understand the history of fascism like white folks do, not just because fascism is mainly a European phenomenon but also because fascism is a revolutionary movement that beguiles both liberal and conservative values from having a say. Fascism employs propaganda to portray society as being in decline or decay and in need of modernization. If you boil it right down, fascism is a movement by which people are convinced that the path to a more just nation is through work. Just read the signs above the Nazi concentration camps for a crystal clear fascist credo: Arbeit Macht Frei – Work Brings Freedom.
Somehow the black community has been indoctrinated to believe that the way to heal America’s racial divide is by working harder at it. Obama is clearly one of these people, because he openly calls for social programs directed at blacks. The prevailing attitude among these neo-socialists is that if one just works harder then you will become part of the mainstream. This is patently false. Many people work hard and don’t ever become accepted into certain parts of society, yet if one were to propose to them that if they just worked harder then they could get to attend the annual Christmas party at the local country club they would probably laugh in your face.
Social justice is not something that government can nor should do. Social justice is just another name for socialism, and the propaganda tools that are employed to achieve both are the same. It sounds good, but if you pay attention to what is being said it would make an average person like myself very uneasy. The path to perdition is paved with the stones that were laid by men who were slaves of a master whose chariot was the only one allowed to ride upon that path. The first step toward becoming the slave who makes that path is by allowing yourself to be silenced.
